Although Donna Kendrick had planned for the future of her family, she was completely unprepared for her new role as sole planner when her husband suddenly took his own life. Wading through the decisions she needed to make right away and the ones that took years to navigate, she realized that for widows and widowers who had no experience, the task might be insurmountable! Over time, as her own process of re building was more complete, she realized she could become a valuable resource for others in her same situation and so her future career was born. Her book, A Guide to Widowhood, holds the hands of those facing losses that bring with them a mountain of financial decisions. Along with her business offers advice to them, the book makes her principles accessible to a broader group of grievers trying their best to find their way.
On Good Grief we explore the losses that define our lives. Each week, we talk with people who have transformed themselves through the profound act of grieving. Why settle for surviving? Say yes to the many experiences that embody loss! Grief can teach you where your strengths are and ignite your courage. It can heighten your awareness of what is important to you and help you let go of what is not.
