When you're used to being certain, successful and on top of things, uncertainty is a new and unfamiliar territory. Amy Van Atta Slater entered that territory when illness, loss and divorce converged to create a very uncertain future. Now, what mattered was how she would respond to all the changes. What could she do to create a new life that reflected those changes? The changes that were beyond her control led to an examination of the changes she might choose, to create the life she really wanted to be living. Bringing all of the mighty skills she'd learned in business, she set out to transform her life into a more authentic and satisfying landscape. And in the process, she discovered that she was good at supporting others through their metamorphoses too!!
On Good Grief we explore the losses that define our lives. Each week, we talk with people who have transformed themselves through the profound act of grieving. Why settle for surviving? Say yes to the many experiences that embody loss! Grief can teach you where your strengths are and ignite your courage. It can heighten your awareness of what is important to you and help you let go of what is not.
