Angelo Merendino is a photographer who started taking pictures of his wife as soon as he fell for her. His photo journaling became a calling when, five months after they were married, Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer. When he shared his photos in essay form, they went viral on Facebook, leading to appearances in the press and a TEDX talk. In this hour, Angelo will share what he wants people to know about how to support their friends and family dealing with cancer. We’ll talk about what moves him to say that his time with Jennifer, including the times of her illness, were the happiest in his life. He’ll talk about Jen and how she could affirm, a few days before her death, “I loved it all.” We’ll talk about how grief has changed him and what his experience of loss has taught him. Join us and let Angelo inspire you!
On Good Grief we explore the losses that define our lives. Each week, we talk with people who have transformed themselves through the profound act of grieving. Why settle for surviving? Say yes to the many experiences that embody loss! Grief can teach you where your strengths are and ignite your courage. It can heighten your awareness of what is important to you and help you let go of what is not.
