This episode is about reflecting on the lessons I've learned from my fearless 86 year old Mom. She always knew how to make an entrance, yet as my younger self, it made me cringe. Now as a 61 year old woman, I finally freaking get it! Don't ever ask for permission because you only have this one damn life to be yourself, so have fun a screw the haters. I was torn about doing this episode because my Mom passed away less than 48 hours ago. I'm mentally and physically exhausted because it has been a very long road for my Mom. In 2016, she suffered a devastating stoke leaving her paralyzed on her right side and 80% speech impaired. I always knew she was a fighter and a fearless son of a gun, but after her stroke, she took it to another level. At 80 years old and in a wheelchair, she re-invented herself and embraced her new life. The day after Thanksgiving, we thought we were going to lose her. Two days later, she was in the care of hospice. She fought so damn hard against the pain until she didn't anymore and decided it was time to let go. For the first time in her life, she let go, but it was when she was ready. She fought hard for 32 days.
